Our Work in The Horn of Africa

The Horn of Africa region has increasingly been affected by persistent drought, destruction due to flooding when it rains and other climate related shocks made worse by conflict, violence and political crisis across the region putting a lot of pressure on livelihoods affecting the most vulnerable in society, women, and children. Wave Advisory works with Government and Organizations in the region to withstand the effects of successive disasters and quickly recover from the aftershocks. Our multi-disciplinary team have more than 50+ combined experience working on resilience building in Kenya, Ethiopia, and other East Africa Countries particularly on strategies to;

  • Diversification of Livelihoods- Promotion economic diversification to reduce dependence on a single sector or source of income.
  • Adaptation and resilience planning, including disaster risk planning and management
  • Strengthening governance structures and institutions to ensure effective coordination and response during crises.
  • Resilient urban development.
  • Vulnerability, hazard and risk assessment
  • Implementation on social safety nets and protection programs to support vulnerable populations during times of crisis.
  • Involve local communities in the development and implementation of resilience-building initiatives.
  • Capacity building of Government Institution on Resilience Building.
